Follow-on on the sports law conference - updates
On Thursday and Friday we had a great conference on sport and law. The first day was dealing with competition law issues and I can say - confirmed by all the participants to whom I have spoken to - the conference was very interesting and a great success. Apart from the general approach the conference was really going into details of the relevant problems and everyone is excited about the judgement of the European Court of Justice next week in the joined cases C-403/08. Football Association Premier League and Others v QC Leisure and Others and C-429/08. Karen Murphy v Media Protection Services Ltd.
The conference even made it to one of the most famous blogs (Chillin'Competition) and to several newsportals. (Thanks to Alfonso.)
Thank you for the sponsors of the event, regarding competition law especially to the Hungarian competition authority (GVH) and to DLA Piper, represented by Nick Fitzpatrick with a very interesting presentation.
There were two masterminds behind the first day (I am not one of them) and I would like to congratulate them! (I am not sure if I can publish their names, so I didn't.)
Updates - we will upload the slides below after receiving permission
The presentation of Ádám REMETEI-FILEP was based on chapter 5 of the following articles written previously by him:
