Rippel-Szabó Péter

Dr. Péter Rippel-Szabó (member at Competition Law Research Centre) after studying at Karl-Marx University Trier (2006-2007), he gained his degree of law (’summa cum laude’) at the Faculty of Law of University Pécs (2008). Then, as a DAAD scholarship holder and a research fellow at the institute of Prof. Dr.   Klaus Vieweg, he obtained a Magister LL.M. degree focusing on sports law at Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (2009).

Currently, Péter is an attorney candidate with Eördögh Bird & Bird Law Firm, lecturer of the postgraduate course sports law at the Faculty of Law of University ELTE Budapest and member of the Sports Law Committee of the Hungarian Society of Sports Science. Péter’s main research area focuses on the connections between sport and competition law. So his research includes i. a. competition law issues concerning joint selling of sports broadcasting rights, commercial agreements of the sports sector as well as internal self-regulation mechanisms of sports governing bodies. Péter co-authored the textbookSports Law II (Budapest 2011) and regularly has publications in law journals and on different websites.
