gombos katalin_2011SKatalin GOMBOS (Member of the Scientific Council of the Competition Law Research Centre of Pázmány Péter Catholic University, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences). She obtained her university degree in law at the József Attila Science University, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Szeged („summa cum laude”) and her specialised legal degree in European law (with merit). She is judge of the Szeged Court of Appeal in civil-economic areas, and a consultant judge in European Law as well. She obtained her Ph.D. at the József Attila Science University, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Szeged („summa cum laude”). She is an associate professor at the International and European Law Department of József Attila Science University, Faculty of Law and Political Sciences, Szeged. She teaches European Law as a compulsory course and facultative seminars centered on European Competition Law as well.

Between November 2002 and April 2003, she participated at the European Competition Law Master Course Seminars in Budapest, organised by the Lord Slynn of Hadley European Law Foundation and the British Council. In 2005, she attended Community Competition Law training in Vienna, organised by the Austrian Academy of Sciences and the European Commission. In 2006, she contributed as a speaker in a series of conferences on Community Competition Law for Hungarian, Bulgarian and Romanian judges, organised by the OITH and the European Commission. In 2007, she took a part at a practical training organised by the Competition Law Research Centre of University of Oxford (CCLP), as well as a conference concerning the private enforcement issues,organised by the European Commission, in Brussels. In 2009, she attended at a conference concerning the private and public enforcement in Brussels, organised by the European Commission and the IBA. She was involved in a competition law training organised by the Institut d’Economie Industrielle, Université des Sciences Sociales de Toulouse and The Jevons Institute, University College London in Toulouse and London in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, she gave a presentation on the event of the Hungarian Competition Law Association in Budapest. The title of the presentation was „The recent issues in Competition Law from a judicial perspective”. In 2011 she studied at Competition Law courses of the University of Utrecht and Florence. She is a regular participant of the OECD RCC seminars and conferences for long years.
