Bassola Bálint

Bálint BASSOLA, LL.M. (member of the Competition Law Research Centre). Bálint is an attorney-at-law at Salans’ Budapest office. He focuses primarily on EU and Hungarian competition law. Before joining Salans, Bálint was a case-handler at the Hungarian Competition Authority between 2004 and 2010, where he conducted competition supervision proceedings under both EU and Hungarian competition law. Bálint pursued his postgraduate studies at the College of Europe in Bruges where he received his LL.M. degree. He earned his law degree at Eötvös Loránd University of Budapest. In the academic year of 2000/2001 he was studying at the Faculty of Law of the Universität Regensburg. In 2001/2002 he obtained the Diplôme Interdisciplinaire des Etudes Européennes from the Institut des Hautes Etudes Européennes of the Université Robert Schuman de Strasbourg. During his studies He was awarded twice with the Scholarship of the Republic ("Köztársasági Ösztöndíj"). Bálint is author of numerous articles in the area of EU and Hungarian competition law. He regularly gives lectures at bilateral chambers of commerce and at universities. Bálint's native language is Hungarian and he also carries out his work at Salans in English, French and German.
